Overview
This article will explain how a user can request document approval within the Outfit platform.
What is Requesting Document Approval?
Some users require approval before a document is able to be exported. Requesting approval is a feature which allows these users to submit their documents to their default reviewer to gain approval before enabling the ability to export documents.
How to Request Document Approval
- Once you have finished editing your document, on applicable documents, you will only have the ability to 'Request Approval'. Select this button to commence the approval workflow.
- Selecting this button will open up a light-box to request approval on said document. Here the user will be able to see who the default reviewer for the team is should they need to get in contact with them. The user will also have the ability to add in a custom message to the reviewer, this field, however, is not mandatory and the user will be able to proceed with requesting approval if no message is provided.
- Once you have selected 'Request' the default reviewer will be notified of the approval request via email and in the Notifications Tab, and the status of the requested document will update from 'Unapproved' to 'Pending Approval'.
